Exporting Rendered Image files from Renderworks takes too much time!

Hello All,

Our Vectorworks (designer 2011 with renderworks) based on a really strong machine.

COnfig:

i7 - 3.2 Ghz Windows 7 Pro (64)

8Gb Ram

Nvidia Quadro Fx 4800 Graphics Card

And some more good options.

We are happy with the results that we get from Vectorworks and the work station.

But we have some interesting problems. If any one can show us a good way to handle this i would be really pleased.

After rendering, we want to export the view as a TIFF or Jpeg.

But it takes too much time than rendering. It starts to render again for a longer time.

What is the solution? (But please do not tell us the Printscreen and pate to paint way! ;) )

This is realy urgent for us. where do we have mistake/s?

One quick solution: export from a rendered sheet-layer viewport. But make sure that the export image resolution matches the sheet layer's resolution; this will remove the re-rendering action and export the image directly.

In other words, set the sheet layer's resolution to, say, 250dpi, and then export the image at the same number but in pixels-per-inch.

During the render process (I believe this is correct for 2011) do not click on the viewport whilst rendering or it will start rending again (from the start).

Also make sure when you export you have the 'Update visible out of date viewports prior to exporting unchecked'

You can also look at checking File > Document Settings > Document Preferences > Display tab : Save Viewport Cache

This will mean that you do not get the yellow and red bars around the viewport (indicating out of date render) when switching between design and sheet layers (even though you have not done anything). In other words it caches your viewport. Downside here is that your file will become bigger so keep an eye on it.
