Lighting Symbols

Hi All,

Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can find a pretty uniform set of symbols for VW.

Over the years I have collected many symbols from all different places and I would like to get some that all look relatively the same.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Have you looked in the VW Resources

Resource Browser>Vectorworks Libraries>Objects Entertainment>pick your maker

Mainly I use these:

a reasonably priced large commercial package from Steve Shelley.

I second the SoftSymbols recommendation. Though I've created the majority of what I use, that package is very well-drawn and is indespensible for those "I need XX symbol NOW!" moments.

Thanks all for the tip, i have dropped Steve Shelly a mail, in the mean time does anybody have a clay paky or robe beam symbol ?

Hey Dave,

You do know that VW Spotlight comes with a deep library of symbols?

Not always the newest lights but the majority.

In a Windows machine it would be here

C:\Program Files\Vectorworks2010\Libraries\Objects-Entertainment

I'm not sure what the Mac path would be.

Both Clay Paky and Robe are in there.

These are under Applications/Vectorworks 20xx/Libraries/Objects-Entertainment.

But I think we added these as favourites when you came for your training. So maybe you are looking for alternatives to those shipped with VW.

Thanks for your replies, yes I am looking for any alternatives as the VW2011 ones don't have a lot of new symbols.

I am looking for GLP Impression 120 fixtures and a Robe or Clay Paky Beam Fixture.
