Kaare Baekgaard
I can't do tapered extrudes from 2D objects in VW2011. I get an error message if the object is in screen plane mode - and if I change the object to layer plane, I get a second error message informing me, that the creation has failed due to invalid parameters for the profile object - regardless of what these parameters are. Change the object to nurbs, and it taper-extrudes just fine. Anybody else get this? It is not logical, that I should be unable to extrude from screen plane objects. I find myself wanting to shout: "Just do it, for crying out loud!" Quote Link to comment
GWS
If you change the object to layer/3D plane in the OIP it should extrude. If you create a NURBS object it will put the object onto a 3D plane so I wonder the object is actually on a 3D plane or not. Quote Link to comment
Kaare Baekgaard
Thanks, Guy. The point is, that I did change the plane of the object - and just got a different error message. Can you actually do the tapered extrude on your setup, which is similar to mine? Quote Link to comment
bcd
It works for me with Layer Plane objects. Quote Link to comment
Kaare Baekgaard
Thanks, bcd I was premature in my asessment - sorry about that: I have narrowed down the problem to 2D circles and 2D elements with adjoining circular segments. Quote Link to comment
GWS
Can you post an example? Quote Link to comment
