Greg_at_ils
Is there a way to save a vw file that contains vw file references to a new location and have it copy the referenced files to that new location? Kind of like the AutoCAD "Pack and Go" feature. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
VW allows you to save/import the referenced data 'into' the file ... but that kinda defeats the economy of referencing.. doesn't it . Another way is to save all the Referenced files with the VW Master into a Referenced Directory .. then move/duplicate the Directory. If the new location is within the LAN , then use FilePath addressing within VW to point to the files. Assign permissions , as req'd. Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
I always do workgrooup referencing path "relative to" the open file -- and it's best to keep them all together in the same folder. The simpler the path, the better. The reason is to avoid the root drive referencing, which can break when the files are moved to a different computer. Quote Link to comment
