custom target for create multiple views

Question

Hello,

When I use the command, "Create Multiple Views", it automatically places the viewports into a new sheet layer. I then have to cut and paste the viewports into the sheet layer I already have setup in a template. What is the possibility of being able to define a custom "target" where the viewports can be placed?!

Thanks,

Patrick, perhaps a more elaborate description of exactly what you're after. Requests for a multi-view GUI have been posted previously, maybe others see this as the same thing . . . . .

i think i see what you want, but for the mo, not sure(for me anyway) it's what i need right now. Other things nearer the top of my list. Sorry.

I hadn't discovered this tool yet. Could be useful, but here's my recommendations:

-One should be able to designate the sheet layer as you say.

-One should be able to designate the class of the viewport(s) created

-One should have some sort of control over the naming of the new viewports. Right now it defaults to Top View-x.... For this to be really useful (because the drawing label tool can take this information, we would need to put in the name we want.
