jchan
my boss asked me a question this morning, and i couldn't find the solution, can I create a plot file from VW? if not, how can I do this on the other method, say using a converter to convert pdf into plt, etc we are using mac many thanks Quote Link to comment
Bryan G.
Are you wanting to Print to Plotter? What Plotter do you have? You should just be able to select the Plotter and Print to it. You have to set up the sheet for your plotter through Document setup. Quote Link to comment
Uli
Hi JC, I think that you should search for a plotter driver on the HP site and install it. Then you can print to a file and there I suppose you can print also into a plt file. I am not sure if that works on a mac. Normaly you use the plt for a printing studio or as exchange to technical offices but if you can tell for what purpose you need the plt it is maybe a little bit easer to help you. jchan
thanks Bryan & Uli, it's for online planning application, not for printing, Quote Link to comment
Uli
Hi JC I would try the way with the HP Plotter driver. A freeware program I don?t know. Uli Quote Link to comment
J Lucas
Consider exporting to a pdf. Quote Link to comment
jchan
thanks Uli, unfortunately I couldn't find anything closer to a solution, hanging around for hours for the plotter driver, it's out of my knowledge how the driver works, (I was in the middle to install a driver, but it asked for the connection to a printer which I don't have) perhaps .plt/.hpgl is not existed in VW world. many thanks Lucas, I may tell my boss I can only export the drawings in pdf format Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
It's dependent on your printer driver, not VW. You may need to try and install an older printer that doesn't need to be connected. A search on Google seems to have some advice: http://www.google.com/search?q=printer+to+install+for+.plt+files&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#q=printer+to+install+for+.plt+files&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=2qW&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=iv&ei=aGKrTLfgA4G8lQesqdGQCQ&start=20&sa=N&fp=84f34ab5383c7ee9 I used to do this many years ago, and I think this is the printer I installed: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom〈=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=designjet+800&submit=Go+%BB Quote Link to comment
