Mat Caird
Hi All I am having problems with extrude along path. I have a 3d polygon as a path. I can extrude a circle along the path, but nothing else. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance MAt Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Biplab Posted November 10, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 10, 2004 Sorry, this is a limitation in the package. In some cases, you might get better result by using loft with a single rail (2nd mode of the loft tool) - select the path as a rail and then the profile. Quote Link to comment
Kaare Baekgaard
You may want to check the path for double points - two points in the exact same location. Also converting the path into a nurbs curve can sometimes help. Quote Link to comment

Nikdade
i'm having a similar issue- tried everything in the manual. lofts, extrudes etc. in a variety of formats from curves to polys and nothing seems to work. it keeps telling me there's something wrong with the path/profile or just that it can't do it at all- what i need to know is exactly *why* it isn't working, but it doesn't tell you that! strange thing is: i have managed to get it to work before and i haven't done anything different... at least i don't think i have... yet it now isn't working! anyone got any ideas? Kaare Baekgaard
What type of path object are you using? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Biplab Posted November 15, 2004 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 15, 2004 Line as a profile in extrude along path is in general supported. It may be that the orientation of the line wrt the path that's causing the problem. Try concverting the line to NURBS curve and see if that helps. Quote Link to comment
