JohnS
Our firm hasn't upgraded our vectorworks 2008 due to the economic downturn. In looking at 2011 it looks like we would essentially have to buy a new lic. While this is discouraging at the same time it is liberating, since we can now look at a variety of options. I am curious to know what other people would suggest as comparably priced or less expensive options. So much of our initial design is now done in sketchup, we are almost looking for a documentation software. While we like vectorworks, I think its unaffordable with no upgrade path. We probably should have upgraded earlier, but with almost no work no money to upgrade with. Curious to hear people's thoughts. Edited September 18, 2010 by jsibert1 Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
You should call sales, there may be an upgrade price from VW 2008. Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
The new 2011 has a subscription option, which in cost compares to the annual upgrade cost. This would initially save on your upgrade cost from 2008 -- although you'd have to pay for it annually. Quote Link to comment
Yoginathaswami
You can terminate the subscription if no feel like not continuing it... Upgrading from 2010 by choosing subscription option saves about $100. Probably worth checking how much the savings are upgrading from 2008. Quote Link to comment
