digitalcarbon
this shows how to go from a shape file (2ft contours) to 3d polygons, w/ a z height, which are needed to make a DTM. a vector script was run to extract elevations attached in a record provided by the shape file to setting the 3d polygons in z height. before that script could run, the shape file needed to be, cropped and fine tuned. not for the faint of heart. total time 4hrs (first time, if done again 1/2 to 2/3 the time) special thanks to the people at Vectorworks for providing the script. another video "VectorWorks Real Life 201.3b - 3d polygons to DTM" will show the DTM made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5RWP4N7cZg Quote Link to comment
