BigDan
Hey guys, OK So I'm doing spandex pieces for my sets, and I'm having some problems... First off I LOVE how easy it is to stretch and reshape NURBs curvs like taffy.. its amazing, and perfect for spandex, BUT when I apply a texture to the piece it only applies it to the line and not to the whole survace. I'm ended up using polylines and converting it to 3d POLY. This is working, but its not as "flexible" as using the NURB.. So here's my question... WHY?? I'm sure i'm missing something extremely simple, but as of now I have NO idea why the texture for NURB doesn't apply to the enture surface of my spandex. HELP! Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
Are they Nurbs "curves" or Nurbs "surfaces" in the Object Info Palette? It sounds like they may just be "curves" (ie. only the lines). You can convert a "curve" to a "surface" by choosing Create Surface from Curves from the 3D Power Pack in the Modelling menu. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted April 24, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 24, 2012 Are your NURBS curves closed shapes? Do they have a Solid fill style on the Attributes palette? Quote Link to comment
Hakman
It doesnt show my that it is closed in the Object Info as you can see in the above image, and it wont allow me to select a fill in the Attribute palette, so would that make it unclosed? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted April 24, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 24, 2012 Copy the NURBS curve into a blank file and email it to me at tamsin@vectorworks-training.co.uk Quote Link to comment
