bjw
Is there a way to section through my 3d theatre at 6'? I haven't been able to find an easy way, though I'm sure there is one. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Create a Viewport on a sheet layer and put it in an Elevation view. Cut a Section Viewport through the Viewport at 6'. Quote Link to comment

Pat Stanford
No, this has worked since at least VW2008. Quote Link to comment
Assembly
When you say 'elevation view'. do you mean put the view into 'Front View'?. When I do this and the go to use the Viewport section tool it reverts back to plan. Quote Link to comment
Assembly
If I try and start the SVP, then change the view to front. I get the following: 'Section could not be created. Try Drawing a different section line object. You may also try setting different section properties.' Quote Link to comment
Assembly
I get it now.. must be on a Sheet layer. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Sorry about that. I don't use Design Layer Viewports often enough to even think about them. You are correct, you need to make a Sheet Layer Viewport, put it in an elevation (Front, Right, Left, Back) view and then cut the Section Viewport from there. Quote Link to comment
