Thom
Is there a reference manual or website that breaks down writing script to very non-script writing language. With the down turn in the economy and a lot of spare time on my hands, I am thinking about working on a basic irrigation piping routine. thks Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
to get started, you need to understand algorithmic languages...these are better then flow chart methods Quote Link to comment
JBenghiat
Thom, VectorScript is based on the (now mostly retired) Pascal language. In fact, in the MiniCAD days, it was called MiniPascal. If you're completely new to programing, you may want to look for a Pascal primer. I'll bet your public library has a few. Next, open up VW's help, and look at the VectorScript Language Guide. You'll find a fairly though discussion of program scope and format, constants, variables, etc, as well as an introduction to making Plug-In objects, menus, and tools. Finally, look at http://developer.vectorworks.net/index.php?title=Main_Page, http://www.vectorlab.info/index.php?title=Category:VectorScript to delve into the language's function calls. -Josh Edited July 27, 2010 by JBenghiat Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
I found that I needed a guide before I could understand the VectorScript Language Guide. so I wrote a guide to read before you read the VectorScript Language Guide and VectorScript definitions. You can find it here: http://www.archoncad.com/electronic-manuals.html Quote Link to comment
