deleting duplicate objects

I have a file that has rather unfortunately been duplicated on top of itself. Is there a vectorscript or other magic to get rid of duplicate objects?

You can write a script that will delete every object after a given object. All of the duplicates should be after the original, so you'd just need to select a known duplicate and run the script, and repeat for any other known duplicates. If you've edited the file since then you might have to use a more careful script. I don't know of any existing scripts that will do what you want tho. You might ask on the vectorscript mailing list.
