AN Design
You cannot print anything w/ Vectorworks 2010 in an Open GL rendering, whether it be print to Mail, Printer etc. or even export Image, VW will crash. This started today after updating to Mac OS 10.6.4. last night. Need help to resolve issue. Having to use screen capture and then convert image from png to pdf in order to send to clients. Otherwise I will need to downgrade back to OS 10.6.3 Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Have you tried printing to PDF in the Mac Print dialog box? Try creating a Sheet Layer Viewport of your rendered scene and then Export to PDF from that Sheet Layer. Quote Link to comment
AN Design
Thats when I discovered the issue, when printing To Pdf or mail pdf in Print dialog box. It makes no difference if it is a Open GL scene, it will not print. Quote Link to comment
AN Design
If you create a view port w/ an Open GL render it will not even render at all. much less print. Open GL does work on screen, but not in a viewport, export of any kind or print of any kind. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Sounds like it would be unwise for any Mac user to update to the 10.6.4 version of OS X. Bug submit the problem - see VW Community Links in top RH corner. Download the 10.6.3 Combo updater from Apple and revert back to that version of OS X. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Have you updated to the most recent service pack of VW2010? I believe it is SP3. Quote Link to comment
AN Design
Yes, using sp3 Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
The last option would be to call tech support and see if they have any information on 10.6.4 with VW. Quote Link to comment
bcd
Sounds ominous - your post should be titled 'WARNING DO NOT UPDATE MAC today' Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
I tested on my iMac with 10.6.4 and I do not have the problem. I wonder if it may be something else going on with your machine. Have you tried restarting your computer? Quote Link to comment
AN Design
Downgraded last night back too 10.6.3, and all is well again. No issues w/computer Loaded 10.6.4 on another drive, and the issue came back. Quote Link to comment
Administrator JuanP Posted June 17, 2010 Administrator Share Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) We started testing in Technical Support in different Mac's and could not replicate the issue. Sending this case to our Q&A team for additional testing. So far we do not have any reports of 10.6.4 causing any printing/exporting or any other issues. If you have any questions or issues feel free to contact us at tech@vectorworks.net Juan Almansa Global Support Manager Nemetschek North America, Inc. Ahmad Johari
Had the same issues just recently after updating to 10.6.4. Machine specs similar to AN Design except for graphic card - Geforce GT120. Will try downgrading back to 10.6.3. Quote Link to comment
Ahmad Johari
Downgrading from 10.6.4 to 10.6.3 seems to have solved the problem. Thanks guys. Quote Link to comment
Administrator JuanP Posted July 15, 2010 Administrator Share Posted July 15, 2010 Ahmad, a required update of Nvidia drivers is necessary after updating to 10.6.4... but as far as we knew it was just the GeForce 200 series. I can't seem to find any 10.6.4 update for the GeForce GT120's you may want to check with Nvidia directly. Here it is our kbase article in reference to this issue: http://tinyurl.com/37wrfpl Juan P.
