GaryJB
Can anyone explain why in top/plan view I will duplicate a single 2D object in a linear line with a (X) dimension and it will duplicate each object 8 times at the chosen (X) dimension? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
What value have you placed in the "Number of Duplicates" field?? I would guess "8"?? Quote Link to comment
GaryJB
This sounds logical. The number of stacks field is "8" but it is grayed out not allowing me to change this. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
stacks should be the 3D part, have you got the option set to Linear? Quote Link to comment
GaryJB
the option is set to retangular array. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
So set it to "Linear" and see if the # field changes from gray to black... Quote Link to comment
GaryJB
number of stacks field is not available in linear option. I have tried changing all fields within all three options inside of duplicate array, it seems that I do not have any choices to change the stacks field in rectangular array. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
OK, let's back up a second... Please tell us again *exactly* what you are trying to accomplish. I was under the impression that you were trying for a Linear Array, but now I'm not sure. Please explain what object you are duplicating, and what tool or command you are using to do so. Also, what is the intended result... THX Quote Link to comment
GaryJB
Ok, In Edit/Duplicate Array/Rectangular Array, for example I can setup 5 columns, 5 rows, stacks is grayed out with (8) in background, distance columns is 2, distance in rows is 2, dist in stacks is grayed out with 25 in background. Hit Ok and I will get 5 rows and 5 columns of my object with 8 duplicate stacks on top of each other. Hope this will help. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Try resetting the Duplicate Array Rectangular Array mode by doing a temporary array of a 3D object with the Number of Stacks set to 1. Then delete the result. Quote Link to comment
GaryJB
That Works! Thank You! Quote Link to comment
