FLAPJACK
I've downloaded a host of .pat (pattern) files to use as stone hatch patterns, but don't know how to get them into a vectoworks drawing as a hatch. Anybody know? Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
It's not possible to import a .pat file into Vectorworks. You need to apply the hatch to an object in AutoCad, then import the file into Vectorworks. Quote Link to comment
FLAPJACK
Thanks. I don't have autocad so I guess I'm out of luck. Any suggestionos to obtain stone veneer hatches? Elsewhere on the site it was suggested to get hatches from El Dorado stone but what I got are .pat files Quote Link to comment

VincentCuclair
I don't have autocad so I guess I'm out of luck. Try Draftsight by Dassault, it's free and available for both PC and Mac. Edited November 14, 2012 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Thanks Vincent. Ugh, these programs are an abomination. Any idea how to import .pat file into Draftsight? Can't find the app support folder for Draftsight. Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
Right click the Draftsight app icon in Finder(for Mac) > show package contents (or something along those lines, mine is in swedish ) > /Applications/DraftSight.app/Contents/Default Files/Support > copy paste I haven't tried this so I hope it's correct  Edited November 14, 2012 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment

VincentCuclair
Well, the easiest is just to post the d..n .pat file here and I'll import it into ADT and post the dwg file for back for you Edited November 14, 2012 by Vincent C Quote Link to comment

But there may be an even easier way. You don't have a nice oriented strand board hatch do you? The one I wanted to try was this one (click on "download this tip"): http://cadtips.cadalyst.com/patterns/strand-board-hatch Quote Link to comment

VASI B
import hatches in Draftsight is right click on screen options file locations systems support file search path [add] a folder with .pat files (hatches) from your local drive Quote Link to comment
