TiTaNiuM sAMuRai
What's the logic behind dimensions not being able to associate across layers? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Creating an association across layers would require VectorWorks to create a single object across two layers. At this time the program does not do this. Quote Link to comment
TiTaNiuM sAMuRai
Why a single object across two layers? The object resides in ONE layer only, but carries REFERENCE information to two other layers. Quote Link to comment
Matthew Giampapa
There are technical limitations which influenced the decision to limit parametric constraints (which are used by the associative dimensioning) to a single layer. If the two layers were at different scales, or in different 3D views it would become very complicated to deal with or have consistent behavior. Since this was already on the wish list for a later version, it will be considered for the next major release of VectorWorks.
