I'd like to have some additional feedback and options when a single or birail loft object fails: "Loft surfaces or solid could not be created".
1. I'm assuming that the loft fails because of self intersecting geometry - it would be nice if the failure notice said why it failed.
2. I'd like some indication of where along the rail(s) the problem is occurring. Currently the only option is to guess and keep simplifying the rail(s) until you guess at the problem location(s).
3. I'd really like an option to go ahead and create the loft object with all the duplicate intersecting geometry deleted. I often want to try out design ideas with loft objects and currently there is no way visualize the idea - the only option is to break objects into smaller pieces or simplify the loft object.
4. Perhaps options to
a. Compress the profile object(s) at the intersecting points to eliminate the intersections.
and/or
b. Smooth the rail object(s) near the intersecting points to eliminate the intersections.
