Mudder
We currently use an old version of vectorworks for survey volumn calculations and are looking to upgrade. I have downloaded the 30 day trial of 2010 but can't find some of the old functions and wonder if they have been removed. What we used to do was with 3 layers called topshots, bottomshots, combined, we would input our survey points from txt files. Once the dtms are created for the top and bottom shots we then make a dtm in the combined layer from the topshots and bottomshots. When this is done we get the volume of material between these 2 layers. we use this number to find how much material is mined from outdoor reservoirs. Does anyone have any idea if the new version of vectorworks is capable of this type of calculation? Quote Link to comment
Mudder
From what I have been trying but not yet successful is trying to use site modifiers. I am trying to get the cut and fill to display the amount of cubic yards. Do I make a site model for both the top layer and the bottom layer? Quote Link to comment
Ozzie
Make an existing site model then site modifiers as proposed Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted April 29, 2010 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 29, 2010 The site model is now a single object which can display the existing terrain or the proposed terrain. The Site Modifier tools are used to propose changes. Update the model to reflect the changes (using the OIP) and then click Update Cut and Fill Calculations at the bottom of the OIP.
