Mona
I created the site model, using 3D contours. However when rendered some portions don't render. Cant figure out the problem. Help. Thanks Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Mona, welcome to the forum. In general it is good to post your system specs and VW's version etc (you can create a signature via the My Stuff pulldown above). This gives us all a better idea as to what the issue might be. Also, in this case a screen shot (JPG or whatever) would be very helpful so that we can see exactly what you are seeing. Otherwise we are taking wild guesses... Quote Link to comment
Mona
I am using Mac OS10, Vectorworks 2008. How do i add an image of the site model that is not on a website/URL? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Use the switch to full reply screen and then use the file manager... Quote Link to comment
Mona
I have attached the JPEG via File Manager. Tell me what you think is happening. Thanks Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
OK, I'm pretty sure that what is going on is that some of the original 3d polys that were used to create the site model are visible above the model's surface. This is a weird behavior that is caused by the 3d polys being "solid filled". There was actually a bug (fixed in a later version) in which unfilled 2d contours became filled when being translated into 3d poly's. The fix for this (if it is in fact the cause) is simple: do a "custom selection" of all the 3d polys in the site model layer, then change their fill to none (note: you can also change their line color to green - or whatever - to make them more or less disappear from the rendering). Hope this helps! Quote Link to comment
Mona
I actually just changed the fill style to none and the problem resolved. Thanks so much. Quote Link to comment
