Convert PDF to 3d-object

Hi Per Ruben,

If the PDF has vector data, then you can select it and use the "Convert to Group" command. Then edit the group and delete the bitmap part and you will be left with the vector data. Exit the group and make sure the group is set to the "Layer Plane" (in the Obj Info palette). Then you'll see the vector data as 3D laying flat at it's parent layer's Z height.

The only way I can think of to have the bitmap part display would be to:

Convert the original pdf file to a PNG or JPEG

Import the image file as a texture.

Draw a rectangle the desired size & proportion of the image

Create a floor (from the rectangle) of 0 thickness and set the desired Z height.

Apply the texture and map it as needed.
