Snapping to grey objects

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to get snapping to work with objects that are greyed out. I am working in a group and I need to snap to an object outside the group but I can't seem to get any snap points to come up on the greyed object. Recently had to re-install VW an have lost my settings. Any help much appreciated.

First check that the settings for classes and layers are set to Grey/Snap Others (as opposed to only Grey Others)

Then check that all layers are at the same scale........

Then check that you have 'snaps' activated.......

......Check that all layers are in Plan view........

if none of this works, go down to the nearest pub and have a beer......or ask someone else
