c1soccer
Hi, I'm running VW 2010 on a Mac. I'm going to try to make this as concise and clear as possible: I have a water closet plug-in object from the VW toolbar. I have them located on the 1st and 2nd floor of the model. When I go to a 3d view on the 1st floor, the partitions and all the other water closet components appear in their proper locations. However, when I go to a 3d view of the second floor (and they are the exact same objects as on the 1st floor) the partitions of the water closet are way up in the air, but the toilet, grab bars and the door to the stall are at their proper height. VW won't allow me to edit the symbol and nothing in the properties sidebar edits the z coordinate. If anybody has any insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated. It's a strange thing. I might add that a co-worker of mine is having the same issue on a totally different project. Not sure if the layers being at different heights are part of the issue. Sincerely, FRUSTRATED Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Just a guess ... it could be related to: SymbolObjects set 3D to the WorkingPlane elevation whereas WallObjects default to the Layer Z. Quote Link to comment
c1soccer
The problem is that part of the symbol is at the proper level while the other part is not. So if the working plane elevation was set incorrectly, wouldn't the entire symbol be "up in the air"? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Double click the symbol and edit the 3d components as desired. Or use a different symbol. While most of the symbols that ship with VW's are correct there could still be a few clunkers in the bunch. If this is one you should file a bug (see link to right). Quote Link to comment
c1soccer
I tried that. It tells me the object has no edit behavior. But the puzzling part about it is the inconsistency of the object. On the first floor it's fine but on the second floor it's not. If it were a bug would it be consistently messed up? Quote Link to comment
