lineweight
Hi, Is there a way (like in Illustrator) that I can define a "brush" to draw a railroad? *My help menu won't load and VW2010 keeps failing to download properly, so I can't reinstall the help menu. So I can't investigate this myself. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
No, not like Illustrator. But you can probably use the Duplicate Along Path command to get the "ties" laid out, then use a pair of simple extruded shapes to create the "rails". The obvious shortcoming being that you don;t end up with a single editable parametric object.... You might also be able to do a similar thing using the Repetitive Unit tool. Hope that helps... Jim Smith
One could also draw a HATCH with ties & rails. Once drawn I would insert a Hatch from the MODIFY - HATCH Menus into a polygon with a line set to invisible rather than choosing a hatch from the Attributes as your rails would stay relative and may not be in the location you want them to be. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted February 15, 2010 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 15, 2010 Peter is right. If you have one of the Design Series versions of Vectorworks, you can use the Repetitive Unit tool to make a map-style railroad track. (If you want a detailed style track with two rails, you'll have to duplicate the path of the Repetitive Unit and use the offset tool.) Quote Link to comment
Turklites
Hello, I hope you are all doing well. I am having trouble drawing a rollercoaster track. I need to draw it in 3D and show the highs and lows of the track from various angles for a project I am doing. Can anyone help me? Thank you, Joe Quote Link to comment
