XCenter(criteria)

The center of objects in the X direction

=XCenter (n='board')

YCenter(criteria)

The center of objects in the Y direction

=YCenter (n='board')

ZCenter(criteria)

The center of objects in the Z direction

=ZCenter(n='board')

Hope that helps, I've been using http://download2.nemetschek.net/www_misc/2009/getting_started/landmark/VWHelp/Vectorworks%20Fundamentals/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm#context=Vectorworks_Fundamentals&file=18_WorksheetDatabase.19.8.html for that kind of stuff.

It definitely appears broken. It is the same in VW2010 SP2. I suggest you file a bug report.

The work around (only if you REALLY need it), it to put a custom record on your symbols and then run a Vectorscript that will take the Zcenter and store it in your custom record and then report that.

The downside is that you have to remember to run the script to update the record information after you make changes or you will return inaccurate information.
