Intellimouse wheel

John:

I do not have an Intellimouse, however as far as I know of the only feature available in VectorWorks that can be used is the vertical scroll. I will be happy to add the other features to the Wish List to see if there can be greater interaction in the future.

Please do add this to the wishlist. I think this Brings a greater ease of use to the program. we currently have this type of zooming capability on Autocad lt and Paint Shop Pro.

P.S. So far I have been very impressed with the performance and potential of Vetorworks. Its just alot to lean while you still have to make deadlines. But I think in the long run it will prove very versitle and useful.

Agreed 100%. Zooming with the mouse wheel is a must!! Also panning when scroll wheel is pushed is a great feature that would be an awesome addition to VW. These are about the only two features that I actually like about ACAD. Maybe in the upcoming OSX VW version????

I have good news. The MS Intellimouse Optical is programmable within the control panel (if you're using a Mac). You can asign key commands to the wheel. For example, you can assign the zoom in command to when you press down and forward; zoom out when you press down and back. You can save these preference to be specific to VectorWorks. The zooming is not as smooth as in AutoCAD (it will be incremental), but it is better than nothing until NNA incorporates it into future enhancements.
