VWUser2335
Is there a simple way of placing rectangles along an arc, so that they are: 1. evenly spaces between the endpoints of the arch 2. rotated so that one side of the rectangles is tangent to the arc Any input is appreciated  Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Select the arc and one rectangle. Edit>Duplicate Along Path will get you close. You might have to play with the offset to get it evenly spaced to each end... hth michaelk Quote Link to comment

Pat Stanford
If you make the rectangle a symbol first, you can edit the symbol to set the side you want along the path to be at the insertion point (0,0 in symbol edit mode). Then you don't have to fuss with the offset. If you want the edges of the rectangle to end at the ends of the arc, you will have to use a temporary arc and do some playing with the arc length. Duplicate the Arc. From the Object Info Palette (OIP) write down the Start and Sweep angles. Edit the Arc Len to be shorter by the side of the rectangle you are interested in. Write down the new Sweep angle. Subtract the new Sweep from the original Sweep and divide it by 2. Add this value to the Start field. Put the original Sweep back into the Sweep field. Now use this new temporary arc to do the Object Along Path. Quote Link to comment
bcd
Select your rectangle (which is already tangent to your arc) Edit>Duplicate Array>Circular Enter knowns - (# of duplicates, Angle between duplicates) Select Next Mouse click Select Rotate Duplicates - Duplication Angle Click the center of the Arc. click coffee.
