ChrisA
I have created a diamond shaped window, converted it to a symbol, and I would like to insert it into a wall. Although when I do it is flipped perpendicular to the wall. how do I get it to stop that and insert it parallel to the face of the wall the way it normally does. Thanks Chris Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Edit the 3D part of the symbol and make sure that it is "horizontal" in a Top view. Quote Link to comment

ChrisA
I guess I should have looked closer at my window insert before i said "perfect" because it is unfortunately not. I inserted my custom window but VW has cut a hole in my wall that has me scratching my head. I have attached a picture of it. any ideas what is going on here? any help would be appreciated. Guest Wes Gardner
Hey Chris, Maybe this is a job for "Edit 3D Wall Hole" command... I tried a quick one and mine seemed to cut the wall as expected...see file Wes Edited January 12, 2010 by Wes Gardner Quote Link to comment

Chris Rogers
Is the edit 3D wall hole the same command I would use to force windows to cut holes in walls that they don't seem to see? Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
@ Chris Rogers - Edit 3D Wall Hole, I believe was a '09 feature. I'm a little unclear on what you mean by "force windows to cut holes in walls that they don't seem to see?" Maybe attach a file or screen shot? Wes Quote Link to comment
