higgins
Hi! My country's standard planning symbols/line types are all based on AutoCad and MapInfo. Does VW2010 finally have a way to add or design new line types, such as zig-zags, lines-with-borders, letters/symbols on lines at regular intervals, etc. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Higgins the answer is unfortunately no. Its been asked for often, but the answer always given is to use the Repetitive Unit tool with an appropriate symbol. That mostly works okay though you may have to fiddle with the symbol pitch (ie. spacing) to fix up misalignments at vertex points. The ability to import and export true complex line types would be very useful. Quote Link to comment
higgins
Oh well... =( I've tried the repetitive unit thing and it is an utter horror. I much prefer using "copy along path" but both of those methods are IMO a major waste of time. Quote Link to comment
Ozzie
Especially to because the old Duplicate Along Path Tool - not the one from the Edit/Duplicate Along Path - the one that you had to add to your Workspace - does not work in Rotate Plan when you use Create Path The Edit/Duplicate Along Path only uses an already created path It is a shame to see a tool like this go backwards and I cannot believe other users have not noticed this Quote Link to comment
