Lec
Anyone know where I can find a symbol for a 6 lamp bar. Also how do you draw a gauze or scrim? There's nothing in the libraries for these. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
There is no light bar tool. You have to either treat each lamp separately or gang them together as a multi circuit instrument - think of them as a striplight. For a scrim you need to create a texture. See the discussion here (and many other places): http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=126756&Searchpage=1&Main=25660&Words=scrim&Search=true#Post126756 Or if you don't want to roll your own, take a look at Mr. Dunning's solution: http://www.landrudesign.com/DefaultFrameSet.htm?VWPlugIns.htm~LandruMnFrm hth michaelk Quote Link to comment

Lec
Perfect - now I can draw gauzes. Thanks for your help again. Lec Quote Link to comment
Lec
Oh, one other thing - wouldn't it be a good idea if Vectorworks actually came up with some 4 and 6 lamp bars given that they are still widely used? Quote Link to comment
MrTemplate
Greetings Lec; if you have a moment, please take a look at my symbol library for the James Thomas line of instruments: http://www.fieldtemplate.com/soft/softcopy.html, and scroll down to the "James Thomas" highlighted text. There's a 3 light, 4 light, 6 light, and 8 light PAR bar shown on the 4th page. As i look at them now, they appear to all be multicircuit devices. hth, Shelley Quote Link to comment
Lec
Hi Shelly, yes found that one, thanks. I'm trying very hard to draw truss towers now - it's infuriating in Vectorworks as none of it makes sense. Does Field Template do self climbing truss towers? Quote Link to comment
MrTemplate
Hi Lec; sadly SoftSymbols doesn't include self-climbing truss towers. which manufacturer would that be? i'm not saying i'm going to make the suckers, but i would like to know which towers you're referring to. thanks and good luck, shelley Quote Link to comment
MattG
The only ones I use on a semi regular basis are the tomcat ones. Quote Link to comment
