David_M
Hi, I'm using VW 2009 with Mac OS X.5.8. I have a document with 3 layers and I want to modify all layers together -- therefore I set the layers option to show/snap/modify others. problem is that I still cannot select items on the other layers. I made sure that the class options were also set to show/snap/modify others, and that the layers are aligned (all in front view). For some reason, when I switch all of the layers to top/plan view, it works. What am I doing wrong, or is it a bug? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
do you have stack layers tuned on? Quote Link to comment
David_M
Nope, stack layers is off. Quote Link to comment
David_M
Some of the items were copied and pasted from documents created in an older version of Vectorworks, if that makes a difference. When I create new documents from scratch, this problem does not appear. Quote Link to comment
brudgers
all layers must be the same scale. Quote Link to comment
David_M
All layers are in 1/4" scale. I just double-checked... Quote Link to comment
Yoginathaswami
I had similar problem once. Can't recall how I fixed it. You may want to reboot your VW and your Mac. HTH Quote Link to comment
billtheia
In VW2009, you can't "show/snap/modify others" while stacked layers is turned on. I've run into this too. View>Align Layer Views usually does the trick for me UNLESS you have the visibility for the layer in question set to gray. Quote Link to comment
Pete MW
I have screamed about this problem. My fix was: View -> Standard Views -> Top Plan You can apparently also just hit command+5 I think I run into this problem when I use the "Rotate Plan" Command too many times... It seems to need to be reminded of where the heck it is. Quote Link to comment
