rcarch
I am looking to upgrade my systems and will probably be purchasing new 867 G4's. Is anyone out there having any tech. problems with VA 9.01 running on the newer G4's? Thanks. ------------------ rich carrroll carrollarchitects Quote Link to comment
Ken
I'm in the same boat, but waiting for VW9.5 and a good crop of apps for OS X 10.1. Perhaps G4s will hit a nice round 1Ghz by early next year. Perhaps VW9.5 will be so disappointing that I re-assess my primary CAD software. Or perhaps it'll dazzle me enough to turn me back into an evangelist. I'm waiting to see. Please post your findings. Quote Link to comment
MikeB
I read somewhere yesterday that a new G-5 chip isn't too far off in the future. They are currently running around 1.4 Ghz but have been tested up to 2 Ghz. Pretty exciting espically since OS 10.1 is already supposed to be faster than OS 9.2 Quote Link to comment
Donald Wardlaw
I find that a mere 466 G4 has ample oomph for vectorworks. A late model video card probably does more for the experience than mhz. The only qualification I make, regards the hesitation with some of the tools and commands in v.9. The move command (there are others) used to give an instanteous result. Now I can count to three before anything moves. I hope NNA can fix this. If not the extra mhz may help.
