alfresco
I would like to render a presentation sheet, illustrating a hardscape layout. I recently purchased the Renderworks module. I have constructed a site model with residence and hardscape layout which includes a multi level patio, exterior fireplace etc. I have been unable to texture the landscape. When I constructed the roof for the residence I get a shell but appears to be transparent and have not been able to apply a shingle texture. I have imported textures into the working file in the resource browser, but have been unable to apply them? I know that this should be basic stuff but? How do I apply a textured ground cover to the site model depicting lawn or softscape textures? Roof, siding or brick textures for the residence? Thanks, Quote Link to comment
bcd
Is the roof a roof object: does the roof have a fill in the Attributes Palette? Is the roof a roof face? : does the roof face have a fill in the Attributes Palette And does if you double click on it does it's source polygon have a fill? Also - be sure in the Object Info palette the Part>Top has the correct texture attached either directly or by setting the class texture in the Organization window. Quote Link to comment
alfresco
bcd, Thank you. I went back to the roof object and changed the fill to solid. Yes I have solid roof now. No shingle texture? I can change the roof colour but am unable to texture the roof with a shingle texture? Quote Link to comment
bcd
Check the Render tab of the Object Info Palette. The components Overall Top Sides Bottom Fascia Soffit etc. can all have different textures. Make sure Top has your required shingle texture. Edited November 14, 2009 by bcd Quote Link to comment
alfresco
bcd Thanks. I have played around as suggested. I not sure why, however, at this time I still cannot apply a roof texture? Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Paste the roof into a new file then post it here so we can troubleshoot. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
You can attach a file by clicking on the Switch to Full Reply Screen button below the Quick Reply: window. Paste just the roof into a new document and the file size will be small enough. Quote Link to comment
alfresco
Ray, Thanks for your help. Hopefully the file is included as required. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
The roof does have a roof texture, you won't be able to see it until you render. File menu>View>Rendering> and choose any of the rendering modes. Quote Link to comment
