Brooklyn
I have VW 2009 and want to add some crispness to the edges of shapes while also rendering tones, shadows, etc. It would be essentially a rendered wireframe image. This can be done in Sketch-Up nicely and is useful for legibility. Is there a setting that allows RW to do it? I'm using a Mac Pro with Leopard. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Absolutely. The easiest way is to use a sheet layer viewport. Set the background rendering to whatever rendering mode you want. Set the foreground rendering mode to hidden line. hth michaelk Quote Link to comment
michaelk
You can also use the old method. Stack up duplicates of the same viewport in different rendering modes. By using that method and controlling the class and layer visibilities you can have different parts of the model render in different modes. hth michaelk Edited October 28, 2009 by michaelk Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
You can also use OPEN GL rendering with OPEN GL options set to "Show Edges"...P Quote Link to comment
Brooklyn
Thanks for the info on GL. Works well with one exception -- many of the rectangular solids (walls, panels, etc) have a diagonal line on the major faces, from one corner to another. Any ideas on how to eliminate this effect? CipesDesign
Edward, are you really still using VW's 2008, as stated in your signature?? Could you post an example of the diagonal lines?? P Quote Link to comment
Tom G.
I have a video on Viddler.com which explains how to do a DLVP that has a colored, rendered model below an overlay of ungrouped lines. Select the unwanted lines and delete. The video covers several topics with the info pertaining to combination of views at the end. http://www.viddler.com/explore/Tguy/videos/4/ Quote Link to comment
