sfatelier
Is there a way to render recessed cans in the ceiling as a light source? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Yes. Use a "Light Object" in an extruded cylinder with "Lit Fog" turned on. For the attached I used a simple extrude for the ceiling(s) with 6" diam hole cut our of it. It will take a bit of trial and error, and also increase rendering times fairly substantially, at least in my experience. Hope that helps... Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
If you don't need the light to project from the cans, you could just put a 3D circle just below the ceiling and give it a Constant Reflectivity shader so it will kind of glow. You will probably have to play with the texture to get the look you want. For a more realistic look, you could apply the constant texture to the inside of a modeled can instead. Quote Link to comment
sfatelier
Thanks, I'll try both and see which one I can get to look best. Quote Link to comment
