disappearing plant symbols

Hi,

I am currently usisng VW 2008 with landmark. This morning when I opened the file I was working on all my plan symbols had disapppeared! :o The plants that had a cross symbol (tick style) in the middle are still there, but only the cross, not the plant itself, I can right click on the cross and Replace Plant and get the plant back but this is very time consuming!! Plants that had the tick style 'none' slected have simply disappeared completely.

Does anyone know why this happens or how to get them back?

There was another thread I found by searching the forum on +plant +dissapear. It seems the solution is to right click on the plant in the resource browser, choose edit, then exit and the plant will come back. Not sure what causes this. If you could click on the Bug Submit link at the right and send the file to NNA. If you would like I could give you my email address to send the file to me and I will file a bug.

EC1 and Ray,

This happened to me a lot in 2008 and nearly drove me nuts - typically they were very large files and I had installed all VW service packs

I think it may have had something to do with a bug if the page had been moved or the origin had been reset or when using Rotate Plan - we had Rotate Plan in 2008 I think

This is what I posted back then

Okies - when a plant or plants dissapear find the plant in the Resource Browser - go to Edit or Right Click the Plant and Edit - is the Plant geometry centred at X = 0 and y = 0

when in Edit Plant to find out where the geometry is Select All and fit to objects

Let me know[/Quote]

What I used to find when editing the plant geometry it would have moved miles away from x = 0 and y = 0 - that is the centre of the plant geometry

Without knocking Vectorworks - I was happy to move on to VW 2009 as I do not know if it was fixed

It was random and I could not reproduce it
