tallboy
can you add textures and hatches to a wall, so that the hatch appears in the section viewport, and the texture appears in the 3d portion? Quote Link to comment
_c_
You have endless options of achieving this playing with the Section Viewport settings in Advanced Properties > Attributes. My favorite is to use "Merged Cross Sections" with the Structural groups activated. Then you can define styles for your groups. * sectioned structural * sectioned not structural * not sectioned The setting rule the 2D display of the sections, while the assigned textures apply. orso Quote Link to comment
Kool Aid
But what is structural and what is not? Quote Link to comment
_c_
Walls, framing members, floors, stairs... There are large differences between VW versions. [but you can toggle the var 702 on any selection to modify the object to your needs, is very useful]. For the non-scripters, you can download it as tool plug-in: Toggle Structural Tool This works from VW13. After placing it into your plug-ins folder in the user's or workgroup folder, you can add it to your workspace. It lists under the category "Orso B. Schmid". Select an object with the tool to toggle its structural flag from Structural to non-structural and the other way around. It's a very simple utility but I find it very useful. orso Edited September 1, 2009 by _c_ Quote Link to comment
Ryan McCuaig
Orso-- Thanks for packing that up as a tool. Call me crazy, but by Version 2011 (VW16) it strikes me that this should really be packaged in. -RMc. Quote Link to comment
