vw2009 viewports

Recommended Posts

You have endless options of achieving this playing with the Section Viewport settings in Advanced Properties > Attributes.

My favorite is to use "Merged Cross Sections" with the Structural groups activated.

Then you can define styles for your groups.

* sectioned structural

* sectioned not structural

* not sectioned

The setting rule the 2D display of the sections, while the assigned textures apply.

Walls, framing members, floors, stairs...

There are large differences between VW versions.

[but you can toggle the var 702 on any selection to modify the object to your needs, is very useful].

For the non-scripters, you can download it as tool plug-in:

Toggle Structural Tool

This works from VW13.

After placing it into your plug-ins folder in the user's or workgroup folder, you can add it to your workspace. It lists under the category "Orso B. Schmid". Select an object with the tool to toggle its structural flag from Structural to non-structural and the other way around.

It's a very simple utility but I find it very useful.
