Andrew Mac
How do I smooth out a curved polyline? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Modify>Poly Smoothing> pick Bezier, Cubic, or Arc. hth michaelk Quote Link to comment
Andrew Mac
there does not appear to be any changes when I have done this Quote Link to comment
propstuff
Note the Poly Smoothing command does not actually "smooth" polys unless they are corner verticies to start with. What it actually does is *Convert* the vertex types to the chosen option. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
True. It converts all the vertices in the polyline to Beziers, Cubics, or Arcs. But if they are all Beziers, it will convert all of them to Cubics or Arcs. They don't have to be corners to begin with. What kind of vertices are you trying to convert? michaelk Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
If the polyline has a manageable number of vertices, you can convert each vertex to a bezier curve through the Object Info Palette (in 2D reshape mode), and cycle through the vertices with the arrow buttons (the middle button highlights it). It can mix and match any vertex style, delete unwanted vertices, and control the arc radius, too! I get a rush just thinking about it. Quote Link to comment
