Robb Jibson
Greetings, Trying to render a scene utilizing a scrim material that will show the contents that are behind it. Have been messing around with many materials and none will allow the subjects behind the surface to show through. Thought I would post here before I attempted to duplicate array 10,000 extruded circles that are .001" thick. Haha. Robb Quote Link to comment
HP Sauce
Are you using a rendering mode that actually shows transparency? Have you set the Transparency settings for the material's texture within the Edit Texture dialog? Quote Link to comment
cad@sggsa
What distance will this be viewed from? If it is to be a render of lets say a stage you will not see the actual holes, so the corrct amount of transparency will do. I use a plain trancparency with logo's to resemble skrims for PA Towers. Looks grear. If it will be a close up shot and in detail you will need to create a texture.... Quote Link to comment
C. Andrew Dunning
Robb - This may be more than what you're requesting, but our new SoftGoods tool has a scrim option. It'll build curtains and create the scrim texture on-the-fly. See http://www.landrudesign.com/VWPlugIns.htm for a rendering sample and mroe info about the tool. Quote Link to comment
