Donald Wardlaw Posted July 27, 2001 Share Posted July 27, 2001 This tool has replaced the extend tool, and useful functionality has been lost. With the extend tool dragging from one object to the other was an option, now it is the only way. But I never used it that way because it takes twice as long for the operations, expecially if once is extending many lines. The other option used to be selecting the destination object, and the selecting the objects that needed to extend. Extending each object only required one click and no panning or zooming. Now the tool requires 2 clicks for each extend operation and panning and zooming of the destination object must be off the screen to see the object to be extended in detail. The new tool slows down my work and is more cumbersome. Not an upgrade in my opinion. I'd like to see the old tool back. Donald Quote Link to comment

Suppose you have a series of parallel lines you want to extend to some reference line, and these lines are so close together you can't select them properly unless you zoom in - then you lose sight of your target reference line, and can't use the tool!
