Cadplan Architecture
Is it possible to have sidelights each side of French doors that are only half height. There doesn't seem to be an edit option for the height of sidelights so it looks as if you can't doit and the only way around it is to have normal french doors and then put the correct size windows alongside them. Is this right? AJ 1 Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Yes, I believe that is correct. I believe you can do this with WinDoor a VW's add-on product available from http://www.ozcad.com.au/otherproducts/vwaddonsWD.html I own WinDoor but have not tried this particular configuration yet. Perhaps someone else knows for sure?? Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
I just downloaded the demo but the files are for earlier versions of VW and won't open, it looks handy though! AJ Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
If they are VW's file, and if they are from earlier versions, they should open with a newer version. Are you on a Mac or a PC? I ask because there are some tricky ways to open files if they won't open via double clicking. First thing I would try is to open them from the FILE/OPEN menu command. Additionally, if you are on a Mac you can select the file in Finder and then Get Info, in the Get Info window is an Open With pulldown which allows the user to select the program with which to open the file. Cadplan Architecture
nope no joy they seem to be plug in commands Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Oh, got it. So you should contact WinDoor and ask them for the current (2009) plug-ins so that you can give it a whirl. I'm pretty sure they will accommodate you (they're very nice folks to deal with). Good Luck! Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
It seems that it's for VW 2009 not 2008 Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
Cool I got the 2008 Demo download and it works. I wonder why it isn't included in the UK version though. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
AFAIK WinDoor is not included in any regional version (except perhaps AUS/NZ?). It is always an "add-on" product. But I'm glad you found what you were looking for! Edited July 11, 2009 by CipesDesign Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
windoor IS included in Australia and New Zealand. Quote Link to comment

Chad McNeely
The work-around for the OP without Windoor is to make a symbol of the door and sidelites and add a bit of 3d geometry (simple extrude, class = same as door or sashes) at the bottom of the sidelite. I have to do this regularly just make the bottom rail match the door's bottom rail height... Quote Link to comment
