AutoCAD Stretch in VW

Can someone with experience in ACAD please explain how to stretch objects/groups of objects in VW much like you would with ACAD's "stretch" command?

Select the object(s). 2D Reshape tool. I'm not sure if this works exactly the same though.

Took 20 seconds to work out how to get it to mimic ACAD but that's it, perfect; from what i hear you just saved us switching to bloody Arris, thanks a lot!

I've been using the Vectorbits stretch. But lately, I really like the 2D reshape stretch marquee. If you select objects before drawing the marquee, then only those objects will get stretched.

That's the key, Bob. I had toyed with 2D Reshape before but couldn't quite get it to mimic what they were used to in ACAD. The help file doesn't really explain it for the layman, only mentions the fact you can use marquee and doesn't explain how it works.

Remember that you get a selection lasso by holding the option key (Mac) w/ the 2D reshape.

Method:

- select the objects you want to stretch.

- activate the Reshape tool and draw a marquee around the object handle points you want to move.

- move the marquee the required distance. Use the floating data bar to enter precise values.

- deselect on completion of the stretch.

Notes:

- you can also use the Move command to move the object handles.

- symbols and groups can't be stretched using this method.
