Copy with base point?

Hi I'm very new to vw, w/ 4 yrs autocad exp. The biggest thing missing from vw that I have found so far is that there doesn't seem to be a way to copy something with a base point. Does anybody have any tips or plugins? Thanks.

What version of VW? Please add a signature with this info (and your operating system). Makes it much easier to help.

If you have VW2008 or VW2009, then try the Move by Point command in the Basic tool palette.

The Move by Points tool introduced in Vw 2008 does this.

For early versions of Vw there are some third party options available:

@Dianne SYou can use this with the Datum point setting (you can set it (in)active and the delay for acquiring the datum point in Tools>Smart Point settings), though this only works within the active drawing, not across multiple drawing files like in AutoCAD.
