ChiYellow
Hello I have been trying for some time to create a 3d trophy.... A simple sweep creates the object that I want, but I have struggled to create the look of engraved text on this object. Using text along path I get the text that I would like to 'engrave'....... but when I 'subtract the text from the curved object then render some letters work and others disappear, (although in wireframe the operation appears to have been successful)...Any ideas? Thanks Chi Quote Link to comment
islandmon
You may be better off making a reasonable visual facsimile using a rendered texture map with the exact look&feel more easily created in Photoshop using font rendering.( set the lighting angle to match the VW 3D rendering isometric view ). Whereas, in VW solid subtracting the engraving will require a negative faceted mesh created from the TrueType > 3D polyline conversion then manually setting the interior points to the correct angular depth.
