johnnyboy2010
Hello, I would like to know if you can get the height, width, and depth of a symbol to show in the columns of a worksheet. Is there a simple command, like how you put in =l for the layer it appears on? Thanks, John VW2008-Apple G5-OS 10.5.x Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
try =Height =Width =Length These really only work for 2D objects and are relative to the current view I do not know a way (short of a script) to get the Z position of a 3D object. Quote Link to comment
johnnyboy2010
Pat, We have surmised the same as you have stated. If there is a script we would gladly use it. We simply don't know how to figure it out. Thanks again, John Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
It really depends on what you are trying to do and what information you need. If you want to access the data in a database row, then you need to attach a record to the object and use the script to write the correct data into the record. You will need to run the script to update the data in the record whenever you make changes to the objects. If you only need the report periodically, you can just create a worksheet and use the script to access the data and write it directly into the worksheet cells. If you only need a few object types either is pretty easy. If you want something universal, it is a BBBBBIIIIIGGGGG job. Tell me more about what you are trying to do. Quote Link to comment
