sigurd
I've been trying to join the walls of a simple rectilinear building to a skillion roof and it keeps crashing. I did this very easily and successfully in a separate file, where the geometry was far more complex and curved. Am I doing something quite obviously wrong? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Probably not. Try: - Editing your walls with the 3D Reshape tool to remove any superfluous vertices from previous attempts. - Using a temporary layer with temporary geometry like an extruded line for the Fit Walls to Roof command (so there is only one object on the defining layer). Damon Design
Also I think that it only works (or works better) when the walls are fit up to the roof rather than trimmed down to it. I was used to using ArchiCad method of trimming and had my walls above the roof and it crashes, so that might help. Quote Link to comment
gmm18
I always hit save before running that command. But usually it works just fine, the key is to first turn off all extraneous classes such as floors, furniture, millwork, etc. (The Visibility Tool works well for this) Then run the fit walls to roof command.
