henry's mom
My Dell has had a video card disaster but I must use it and is operating in safe mode. I am trying to capture a jpeg but cannot "push" the page down enough to get at the box to pick a jpeg (it always defaults to jpeg 2000- Argh!) I tried the arrows it does not work as safe mode is very limited...Any way to have it default to jpeg? Any other way to get a photo fo a model? Obviously PDF's only work on lines. Print screen and going to Paint really sucks. Thanks for your help. and yes I know buy a mac! Michelle XP VW 12.5.3 Quote Link to comment
rkraybill
I am not familiar with VW for Windows capabilities, but can you export PDF, import PDF into MS Paint and then export that to .jpg? Or can you just export .pdf and use that file? - .pdf format supports raster graphics also. Hope one of those options work for you. Quote Link to comment
rkraybill
Another option: upgrading to Quicktime Pro ($30) give you the ability to open a JPG2000 file and export that to a standard .jpg. Quote Link to comment
henry's mom
rendered models im 3-d do not show up on pdf's thanks anyway though.. Quote Link to comment
henry's mom
gotta say I think its BS that i need to upgrade to something that was put in as a default in my software...ok maybe I'm already agggravated but that just rubs me wrong. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Are you sure about that? I have exported lots of PDFs of rendered images. Am I misunderstanding your problem, or is it that you are running at such a low resolution (800x 600?) that the export image dialog box extends off the bottom of the screen so you can't choose the export options that you want? David Ormsby
I second that - I have printed plenty of rendered views to pdf. Are you trying to capture something on a design layer or sheet layer? Can you not zoom out a bit to capture the entire area? Quote Link to comment
henry's mom
yes Pat I am running in SAFE mode..and yes I am unable to select a normal jpeg as the dialog box is too big for my screen (and no cannot add monitors)..regarding the PDF it seems when I try to capture one it works with 2d stuff but cannot see a model (in the confines of the page (gray) box..seem to remember this working before. UGH!print screen really sucks for image quality thanks for any all help guys! at least the client is not firing me michelle Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Why 'Safe mode' ? That's intended for installing & debugging .. not for runtime ... Quote Link to comment
David Ormsby
I finally got what your saying - islandmon, she's running windows in safe mode because of hardware failure, and the resolution is so low the dialog box won't fit on the screen. michelle, if you pm me and get me the file and I'll try to help.
