vw2009 SP update error

Hi there, i get a error message when trying to install any SP updates to vw2009,

An unexpected response was received from the web server. This could be due to a proxy server intercepting the connection. Please contact support for more information.

it seem to update at works pc fine, (im using a dongle at home)

any help is much appreciated,

Something is blocking outgoing traffic. More info would be needed.

What OS?

This is a home computer?

Is it on a network?

Do you have a firewall?

its running windows xp home,

its a home laptop,

its on a wireless router, sharing with 2 other users,

i have a firewall (eset smart security 4.0)

i have tried disabling firewall, antivirus, windows firewall,

i have tried using dialup instead of broardband,

nothing has worked so far,

Something on the network is intercepting the authentication step. Do you have any sort of proxy server set up for your normal web browsing?

No proxy server, and no proxy server setup for normal web browsing,

for username/company name/ and serial number i used the exact same details as i do from my company's(work) pc, but because i use a dongle at home it shouldn't affect the update?

i have also placed a specified IP address to this pc, and entered that IP address into my routers DMZ, which should expose that pc to the internet without any port filtering, firewall etc...
