VincentCuclair
Can someone please explain the subtle difference(s) between the 2D and 3D selection tools.....? Quote Link to comment
Guest Frank Brault
Hi Vincent One difference is in snapping. The 3D selection tool observes 3D snaps and constraints, whereas the 2D selection tool indicates only 2D snaps; i.e. no Z values. Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
That's what i thought, seems to me these 2 could be merged into 1 tool ?! Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
I agree, there're a few instances in VW like this where there are two tools that could be one (another example is the straight and curved wall tools) Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Single tool would be OK, but a key modifier and/or mode bar option would be necessary. When moving 3d objects, the 2d Selection tool moves things in a plane parallel to the screen plane. The 3d tool behaves the same way except when it moves objects to snap points "up" or "down" from the screen plane. This is useful. -B Quote Link to comment
