No, i mean when you activate a certain tool the tool options appear next to you're mouse (just like the floating data bar) in a little window, before you make the first click. Bentley had it a while back and AC has it now, i've gotten quite used to it and it saves quite a bit of mouse movement/mode group short-cutting....

Another nice trick that speeds up things is a smart version of the current direct number input in the data bar. ie click and move the cursor either along the x(or y)-axis and input the distance, then move the cursor along the other axes and input the distance, enter and done! the data bar automatically activates the right data field (no more need for tabbing any more).

Understand?

Now if you want to draw a vertical line you click, tab twice, input distance and click/enter twice,

my wish: click, move mouse vertical, input distance and click done!

The mouse direction movement kind of works as an automatic tab.....

I like this idea. How about also Context Tool palettes like the Context Menus. Say Option+Right Click to bring up a customised tool palette at the mouse cursor.

Making the context menu dynamic would be a great improvement.
